I am Barbara Barganska. I lived in Bristol for over 30 years, but moved to West Wiltshire in August 2019, in the South West of England.
On the following pages you will meet my family of Norwegian Elkhounds. They are loved family companions first and foremost, but also show dogs.
I have now owned nine female generations, from the first ESKAMERE YARLA AT BARBELKA Born in March 1992 down to (and beyond) two daughters of CH BARBELKA ISKRA JW (Lexi), born in Sept ‘03, sired by the male Multi Ch Camalot’s Faithful Knight JW ShCM who was owned in partnership by 3 friends, and I, and imported from Mari Misbeek’s Camalot kennel in the USA .
The older of Lexi’s daughters BARBELKA MUZYKA (Myka) born Dec. 2006 was sired by FINNISH DUAL CH & SWEDISH SHOW CH ÅSTDALEN’S PEKKO who was born in Norway but lived in Finland, where we traveled in October 2006 using the ‘Pet Travel Scheme’. The younger ‘Inka’ CH BARBELKA NOWINKA JW born July 2008 is by BARBELKA LASER WITH SEASARA a son of the Norwegian Import VÆSJAN’S MARTELL.
In December 2010 we took ‘Inka’ to the USA to be mated to AMERICAN CH ELLYKA’S ON A NORDIC TRACK and have kept one of the bitch pups born February 2011, ‘Safi’ - BARBELKA SZAFIR. Safi’s Paternal half brother STROM FOOTLOOSE FOR GRASILVA (Imp USA) was paired with Myka and we kept a daughter BARBELKA TOPAZ - (Peni). We kept a puppy from ‘Peni’, BARBELKA ZAGADKA - (Ridl) sired by Windy Cove Hickory Winds (Imp USA).
Sadly Ridl was sent over ‘The' Rainbow Bridge' in March 2020, though she did leave offspring born February 2019, the ‘C2’ Litter..

On 26th May 2021, a litter by Ch Seasara Earl Grey (a son of Barbelka Uczta) and Branika Frills N Spills (Great Granddaughter of Barbelka Motyl), produced a first litter for Paris Lyon, of 3 girls, and we welcomed home Dido - BRUMOUS A NEW DAWN FOR BARBELKA.
Two months later on 28th July 2021, a litter by Kinderhorn Espen of Conrick (a son of Barbelka Platyna of Kinderhorn) and Barbelka Aurora Nights of Cealdstan produced a litter of 5 girls and 3 boys for Donna Preston.
Alys - CEALDSTAN ANCESTRAL VOICES OF BARBELKA joined us in September 2021.
In August 2023 ‘Alys’ and I travelled to the USA, where she was mated to AM CH ELLYKA’S TRUE NORTH. A litter arrived of 6 Dogs and just the one bitch, ‘Ziva’ - BARBELKA DAUNTLESS SPIRIT.

In August 2023 ‘Alys’ and I travelled to the USA, where she was mated to AM CH ELLYKA’S TRUE NORTH. A litter arrived of 6 Dogs and just the one bitch, ‘Ziva’ -
Sir-K . or Cam, (Ch/Int/Lux/Bel./Ned/Ir Ch Camalot’s Faithful Knight JW ShCM (Imp)) pictured at 16 months. He won well, including twice Best Puppy in show, less than a month after leaving Six months Quarantine! Gained his Junior Warrant and Show Certificate of Merit and a Best In Show win in 2003, and another two in 2005, one of which was in Holland. Now a Champion with 4CCs and 5RCC’s (a Luxembourg, Belgian, Dutch and FCI International Champion, also his Irish title , and Group wins and places) .
He was owned from importation by: Mrs V J McHugh, (CONRICK,) Mrs J T Maun, (BOWERHINTON,) (with whom he lived, and from 18th July 2008 to whose ownership he was transfered), Mrs A M A Harper, (RAVENSTONE,) (who sadly died in June 2008) and Ms B M Barganska, (Barbelka).He lived in retirement into his 16th year with Treena Maun’s daughter Georgina White.
Bred by Mari Misbeek, Camalot Elkhounds, in California, USA. Descended from Nor Ch Bella 10027/71, on whose offspring the kennel is based !
